Bowlaway is owned and operated by Rob Radwell with the assitance of long-term fixtures co-ordinator Geoff Jones.
Rob Radwell is a local lad who grew up in Weymouth and the Purbecks. In 2003 Rob upped sticks and bought a pub in a small village outside of Lincoln. After a stint in the hospitality sector he sold up and went to work for the MOD.
Rob’s heart was still in Dorset and in 2011 he moved back down and set up home in Bournemouth.
Although not personally involved in the hospitality sector, Rob didn’t manage to escape it completely as his partner Rachel is Managing Director of the Marsham Court Hotel which has been in her family for over 30 years.
In January 2018 Rob was offered the opportunity to take on Bowlaway. Although Bowlaway is a new venture for Rob, he is confident that, with his experience in hospitality and Geoff’s fantastic knowledge of bowls in Bournemouth, they can offer an unrivalled package and great bowl venues to you and your club.
Geoff has been involved in the local Bowls scene since 1990, when he started playing bowls after purchasing a hotel immediately opposite Knyveton Gardens Bowls Club in Bournemouth.
He served as an active Committee member at the Bowls Club, going on to serve as an Officer with the Bournemouth and District Bowling Association.
He was for several years involved with the running of the Bournemouth Open Bowls Tournament.
After retiring from the hotel industry Geoff was invited to join the local newspaper, the Bournemouth Echo, as Bowls correspondent and reports on the local Ladies’ and Men’s Bowls leagues.
Geoff joined Bowlaway in 2005 as Fixture Co-ordinator, and remains committed to arranging the best possible itineraries for Bowling Clubs on Tour in the Bournemouth and District area.
Being local to Bournemouth we are always on hand to help with anything you need and would like to think we go that extra mile to make sure you and your club have a great tour and revisit us again and again.
